Anniversary Sculpture

It's our 10th wedding anniversary in a few weeks and earlier in the year we decided that rather than buy presents for eachother we would ask Edwina Bridgeman to create a sculpture for us. Those of you who have ever visited the RUH in Bath (and we have several times due to our 'breath holder' toddler!) will recognise her work from the huge sculpture in the entrance. We have seen her work several times and have always been entralled by her clever use of found objects and the serene faces she paints, so after our daughter attended an art session in Frome with her we asked if she would create a sculpture to celebrate our anniversary. Well, we picked it up today.......we are so pleased with it!

  1. That is really beautiful.
Congratulations on your tenth wedding anniversary.
We had a "breath holding" toddler, he has grown to be a wonderful 23 year old and soon to be father himself.

  4. Congratulations to you both and what a wonderful sculpture to remember the day by. Michele (Cowboys & Custard) has a couple of Edwina's sculptures too.

I called into Anne's on Saturday and told her that you had 'blogged' the dresser - she was chuffed to bits! ;-))
    Have a great week,
    Niki

  8. Hello Clare..
Thank you so much for your kind comments about Milly & Dottie.. we chose our hats especially!
I am fortunate enough to know Edwina well and have watched how her work has become more prolific and inspired over the years. Last year my beloved bought me an Edwina piece for my 50th made especially for me.. (see my Sept 18th 2008 post)..
I love your anniversary gift to each other and it will become a very special family heirloom in years to come..
Hope to see you in Portscatho...
