Today was supposed to be sunny....no such luck! It's been windy and cold all day. I had planned to finally decorate a cupboard I bought a few weeks ago, I envisioned sanding, painting and distressing it outside in the warm sun perhaps taking a break every now and again for a cold drink. Well, I decided to go ahead anyway...patience is not a virtue I possess and so it serves me right that I was chasing paintbrushes across the garden in the wind. I used some beautiful vintage wallpaper in the back of it which I found at the assembly rooms vintage fair in Bath and its finally back in the house after its very 'distressing' time in the elements. This evening I think there will be lots of time spent 'faffing' with whats going in it....with Mr Darling in the background sighing and saying things like " Yes it looks fine". Have a lovely week whatever you're up to.

Hi Clare - Love what you've done to your cupboard, despite the weather! The wallpaper looks so pretty - wish I'd looked through that pile of them at the Bath fair too...but I had very quickly run out of money...
ReplyDeleteLets hope the sunshine comes back soon,

Love the cupboard! I had already spent too much at Bath and didn't buy any of the lovely wallpapers but am now regretting it! BTW ~ faffing is good for the soul, do it as often as possible!
ReplyDeleteGood to see you again on Saturday and I am really pleased with my poppy corsages!

What a fabulous cupboard - you've done a great job. I'm desperate for some display shelves for my 'treasures' but I can never seem to see anything with potential.
ReplyDeleteI can spend hours faffing too!
Wonderful job on the cupboard, the faffing at the end is the best bit - such fun! Your stall looked great on Saturday, and looking at everyone's photos, I wish I'd had more time to browse all the lovely things. Ah well, next stop Frome!
