If you can............

This is a short post about a friend of mine who has done an amazing job by running the San Diego half marathon for Clic. She teaches with me at our school and the student below was a lovely young man. I hope you have time to read it and maybe donate something small if you can, thanks.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am raising money for Clic Sargent because of Ryan Henry, a student in my Year Group who died, aged 15, after a seven - year battle with leukemia.
Ryan was first diagnosed with leukemia when he was eight years old, yet he never allowed his illness to get in the way of his life. He was a young man who was popular with staff and students at the school where I teach. His peers have marked his memory in many different ways - for example, producing a CD and taking part in The Race for Life.
I hope that by doing this for Ryan we can contribute to a very worthy cause.

Holiday Bits and Bobs

Well it's been some time since I posted, time seems to go so quickly over the holidays and as I'm due back to work in a couple of days I'm getting that decidedly 'Sunday night homework' feeling. It was the Shepton Flea today and it was rainy and cold all day which meant whingey children but a good excuse for hot chocolate and doughnuts! We've had quite a busy holiday really and have just got back from a week in St Ives ( a very last minute decision but a very good one!). The Tate inspired us all to do some drawing on the beach and some watercolour painting.....my eldest wanted to try and sell her work on the harbour to tourists! we visited the best cafe for breakfast....'The Digey' sells wonderful deli stuff and does the yummiest cakes as well. Lastly, it was my baby's second birthday.....as I said time seems to fly! have a lovely week.

Car Boot Virgin and Why Biscuits are bad!

Yes, it's official biscuits are bad..primarily the ones from Mand S with icing bees on them...please see 'King Charles' for proof!

She managed to spread her grubby black icing encrusted hands over pretty much everything. You'll notice the pics are fuzzy due to the fact that she was rushing away from me and a cloth! On a happier ote I visited my first car boot on Sunday. We seem to have had disasters everytime we've planned to go, several times turning up only to find its not on! Anyway it was a success so I'll leave you the haul...a set (not all pictured) of pretty plates, cups, saucers, a cake plate and a Clarice Cliff jug all for under a tenner. Have a lovely week must finish cleaning the floor, sofa, chair, wall etc.....

Camping......not!

I thought I'd post a couple of pics of the teepee which now seems to have become 'Eleanors Den' far too quickly. I did succomb (?) to it at the CK outlet store near Oxford and as my husband pointed out at the time we didn't 'need' one but it's not about 'need' is it and as it was considerably reduced I was really saving money, well thats the way I look at it anyway. The girls love it and we slept out in it last night, until mummy chickened out at around 1am. I'm afraid I don't 'do' proper camping, the idea of being cold, creeping to the loo in the middle of the night and creepy crawlies sharing the sack doesn't appeal, not when god invented hotels. The Bicester outlet centre was all very pretty but full of designer shops where reduced means 'still far too expensive' so I'm not sure I'd go back. I'm afraid I haven't posted about the fair because my camera ran out of batteries....but it was lovely and I'm now in the process of making up new orders. Have a lovely week whatever you're doing.....x

Thanks Mel (Stickery pokery) for my award. I have to list my five current obsessions....

1. Our new teepee, bought in the sale and in the back garden containing children...(ours I have to add!) very exciting!

2. My hubby (yes I know yukk!) as he took me back to Lucknam Park for a surprise dinner on our annversary (it was where we had our wedding) and bought me a lovely CK handbag...whats he after? or whats he done???

3. Portscatho, it was so lovely there!

4. Charlie Brooker and Flight of the Concords on telly. I loved reading CB TV column in the paper..very funny

5. Making jam (thanks to Henhouse) is a new obsession, anything that can be 'jammed' is likely to be if it hangs around too long!

So, there we are. Now I have to pass it on to five more bloggers I think?...so in no particular order..

1. Hens Teeth

2. Vintage to Victorian

3. Mad Aunt Bernards Tortoise Poetry

4. The Lesser Weevil

5. Henhouse

Please feel free to do with it what you wish......within reason!
